ELD: English Language Development
At Brentwood Science Magnet, we provide rigorous instruction for all of our English Learners. According to State and Federal law, English Learners are placed in classrooms where they will receive extra, targeted instruction in English Language Development (ELD) with a highly qualified teacher. English Learners are also provided opportunities to interact with native English speakers to enhance their language development. Students are assessed and expected to achieve at their grade level in all academic subjects even as they are learning English.
