Categorical Programs
Title I
At Brentwood Science Magnet we have been authorized by the California Department of Education to operate a School-wide Title I Program. As a result, we receive resources from the state and federal governments that enable us to upgrade the entire educational program in order to help all students meet the challenging state standards.
A comprehensive needs assessment and an analysis of the student achievement data are conducted yearly to develop a Single Plan for Student Achievement. This is completed through the collaborative efforts of staff and parents. The school-wide program includes strategies to raise the academic achievement of all students.
For the 2016-2017 school year, the following are some of the services available from the school’s Title I site-based resources to assist your child:

- Teacher's assistants,
- Teacher Professional Development,
- Support staff like a full-time nurse, full-time librarian, full-time Psychiatric Social Worker, half-time coordinator, and full-time psychologist
- Computers,
- Saturday School tutoring

English Learners
English Learners receive rigorous instruction to help develop their English skills as well as help them meet the State Standards in all content areas. Designated and Integrated English Language Development (ELD) is provided for these students on a daily basis.
